Counselling aims to work with learners to examine mental health issues and explore the underlying problems that may have caused them.
What can I talk about?
You are able to discuss anything that is important to you. Amongst other things these might include:
- Any mental/psychological health concerns
How do I get a referral?
You can self-refer; ask a member of staff to refer you or parents could also assist you in getting contact.
When can I have an appointment?
Appointments are available on Wednesdays at Cambridge and Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at Huntingdon between the hours of 9.00am-4.15pm.
Will the counselling be confidential?
Counselling remains confidential; however, there are exceptions to this which will be explained at the first appointment. If your tutor has made the referral to counselling they will be informed of your attendance.
How will information about me kept?
Written records conform with the data protection act of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and the Data Protection Act 2018. You are entitled to see these records.
How will your information be used?
No personal information will be passed on without your consent. However, your generic information may be used for research purposes.
